He has always loved avocados and their history. His first food and nutrition demonstration in his life was an avocado show and tell to his fellow students with Alissa Cohen while attending her chef school. Continuing his personal avocado journey with the avocado, he found many culinary uses and creative opportunities as well as the facts that avocados are a great disease prevention food and nutrition power house.

Joseph Lucier AOBTA is a plant based nutrition advocate, 16 year vegan, educator, healer, author and above all, lover of avocados. The book Avocado Joy is the culmination of his training at The Alissa Cohen Chef Training Program, Living Light Culinary Arts Institute, Living Foods Institute Program and the Tree of Life Rejuvenation and Training Center run by Dr. Gabriel Cousens who was generous enough to offer the foreword to the book.
