Great Green Smoothie with strawberries and Romaine lettuce, sweetened with healthy yacon syrup or agave nectar. Romaine lettuce is rich in calcium and works well with all fruits for smoothies. Yacon syrup is a great sweetener and pre-biotic for an additional nutritional bonus.

  • 2-3 cups water, coconut water, milk or juice
  • 1 cup avocado, chopped
  • 2 cups strawberries or other fruit, fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce or fresh garden greens
  • 1-2 tablespoons yacon syrup or agave nectar
  • 1 dash Himalayan or Celtic sea salt (optional)


  1. Beginning with 1 cup liquid, add avocado, strawberries, romaine lettuce,sweetener and salt.
  2. Blend while gradually adding more liquid until desired consistency is reached.


Romaine Highlight

According to the American Cancer Research Organization, it is on the list of dark leafy greens that help prevent cancer and reduce edema.
